I’m Patrick
Squamish & the Sea-to-Sky Corridor, British Columbia
I’m a Squamish-based landscape and nature photographer. While I enjoy photographing natural landscapes and intimate scenes wherever my travels take me, my favorite place to explore and create images is in my backyard, in the beautiful Coast Mountains of British Columbia, Canada—specifically in the Sea-to-Sky Corridor, encompassing Squamish, Whistler, Pemberton, and the surrounding wilderness.
The most meaningful images are those that resonate with our own personal experiences; those that capture the mood and spirit of a special place and a special time. They transport us back in time and across distances to relive treasured moments. In my galleries you’ll find some of my favorite images. Every one of these images brings me joy. I hope you’ll find some joy in them as well.
Curated Galleries
Seven collections spanning the fjords and alpine peaks of British Columbia, the volcanic highlands of Iceland, and the sculpted deserts of the American Southwest.
Sea to Sky
The Sea-to-Sky corridor in Beautiful British Columbia is steeped in beauty. The Coast Mountains emerge from the fjords of Howe Sound - sculpted by plate tectonics, volcanoes and glaciers - creating a playground of rain forests, snowpack fed rivers, and high mountain alpine. Weather systems driven by the collision of relatively warm ocean currents and cool, high mountain winds provide low, moody clouds and an abundance of snow.
Death Valley Landscapes
This gallery showcases the stark beauty of Death Valley’s vast desert landscape. From sweeping sand dunes and rugged rock formations to the subtle desert vegetation and distant mountain backdrops, each image captures the raw geological layers and desolate charm of this unique national park, often bathed in the soft light of post-sunset.
Icelandic Highlands
This collection captures the vast, rugged beauty of the Icelandic Highlands. From sweeping aerial views of winding river bends and lava flows to close-ups of melting ice formations and desolate tundra slopes, the photos highlight the dramatic landscape shaped by glaciers, plate tectonics, and volcanic activity. You'll see wide establishing shots of valleys and estuaries nestled among rock formations, along with details of the riverine terrain and alpine scenery that make this landscape so unique.
Death Valley Badlands
This gallery captures the stark beauty of Death Valley’s badlands, showcasing the dramatic canyons, layered rock formations, and sweeping desert landscapes. From wide establishing shots of rolling hills to intimate details of geological layers and textured slopes, each image reveals the raw, desolate charm of this national park’s unique topography.
Dreamy Tofino
On the western shore of Vancouver Island, exposed to the raw Pacific weather, lies the small surf town of Tofino which is rich with rain forests, deep sandy beaches and rocky coastline. Whether soaking up the golden sunset or bracing against raging storms these seascapes always leave one with a sense of calm stillness and awe. Long exposures let the dynamic details fall away and allow the images to display that sense of peace and to illuminate the strength of the landscapes holding fast against the forces of nature.
Dune Abstracts
This collection explores the stark beauty of sand dunes through a minimalist, fine art lens. Playing with negative space and subtle gradients, the images evoke the desolation and quiet rhythms of the desert. Shadows and fabric-like textures mimic waves and veils, creating an abstract interplay between natural forms and soft, flowing shapes.
Abstracts
A slow pace and quiet mind allow us to look beyond the literal, to sharpen our focus on the subtle textures, shapes and patterns of the natural world. When we surrender our instinctive reaction to identify the objects before us, to understand the scale and orientation, to discern the unfolding story we allow ourselves to see something more fundamental. We challenge our own perceptions. We question our understanding of the familiar. We experience again the childlike wonder and curiosity of seeing something for the first time.
